Data choices.

Swell is anonymous and local-first. You can use it without sharing your device location, and you can remove its saved data at any time.

Use Swell without location

Choose a break manually during onboarding or from the break picker. Denying location does not block forecasts. Change permission later in iOS Settings → Swell → Location.

Turn notifications off

Disable go-day alerts inside Swell or in iOS Settings → Notifications → Swell. This cancels Swell’s scheduled local alerts.

Remove app data

In Swell, open the menu and choose Reset Swell data. This removes saved breaks, custom pins, ideal conditions, local alert preferences, cached forecasts, and the anonymous Swell profile from that device. It does not cancel an App Store subscription.

Request help

Email privacy@tocld.com for a privacy request. Include only the information needed to explain the request; Swell cannot identify an anonymous installation from an email address alone.
